What makes HOT TOGS Thermolite socks better than other ‘thermal’ socks?
Our socks are made using Thermolite yarn, Thermolite is a technical yarn that delivers all the warmth without the bulk, it is made from ADVANSA engineered hollow core fibres that trap warm air in the core delivering outstanding warmth and comfort even when wet. Thermolite is a lightweight yarn that provides heavy duty performance, it is breathable, moisture wicking and above all warm.
Furthermore our socks are loop pile stitched which enhances their warmth, padding and durability.
What if I get my socks wet?
Thermolite is a hollow core fibre that traps the warm air within the core of the material itself, therefore if your socks do get wet they will retain their thermal properties and they also dry very quickly. Thermolite dries 20% faster than other insulating fabrics and 50% faster than cotton. Thermolite is very effective at speeding moisture away from the skin to the surface of the fabric where it can evaporate more quickly.

Thermolite yarn was developed from the study of Polar Bear fur, Polar bear fur is also a hollow core fibre and it is what helps to keep them warm!
